• What is Jamestown Nature Reserve?

    Jamestown Nature Reserve is a farm with nature conservation at the top of the agenda. It is privately owned and funded, at times with some help from The Heritage Council and Birdwatch Ireland.It has been a REPS (Rural Environment Protection Scheme) demonstration farm, and we are now in the AEOS (Agri-Environmental Options Scheme).

    Jamestown offers tours, walks, workshops and more to groups interested in learning more about nature first hand. Jamestown Nature Reserve is unique in the fact that not only are we a working farm, but we also have access to a river and all the birdlife that goes along with it.

    As well as offering workshops Jamestown can cater for a wide variety of groups, clubs and organisations etc. In the past we have hosted primary schools, secondary schools, colleges and many different clubs and groups from various areas, with various interests. We pride ourselves on the fact that we can tailor the experience to what you and your group want and need.
